Cave of Rahasia // Cave of secrets

"Welcome to my humble abode, please turn around and leave." The dragon-like creature hissed quietly, his unforgiving gaze making you feel slightly uncomfortable as you gulped. "Are you deaf? I said leave." He added one more time, his tail flicking in annoyance. You could tell that the air seemed to grow colder by the second, everything starting to frost. You opened your mouth to protest, stating that you were only here to learn. You just wanted to ask a few questions, then you'd be on your way.

"Fine. what do you wish to know?" The creature rumbled. He wasn't as big as you had believed he would be, but that didn't seem to matter, he seemed just as deadly as the stories have said. You spoke again, your voice still shaky and low, asking about the history of the shrine.

"Oh," The beast cleared his throat, a solemn look appearing on his face. "Yes, I see..." The beast trailed off. He walked towards you, picking you up and setting you down near a fire. "This was once a shrine to pay tribute to the patron goddess of the Lupri tribe. This shrine was built long before my time, and even longer before yours. However, many decades ago this shrine ceased to have a purpose. The tribe was wiped out, gone. The hoard you see is what is left of that tribe; my tribe."

"The goddess that is worshipped here is, ironically, the goddess of life. Her name has been lost in the texts, some say that they never knew her name, for it was a secret. This was where the name Rahasia, or secrets, comes from. The shrine of secrets," he paused, cracking a toothy smile. "Sounds cryptic, doesn't it? Anyway, as it is no longer a shrine to honor the goddess, I simply call it a cave. This is the cave of Secrets, and you are no longer welcome here. Please leave, and do not return. Take nothing, or else you will perish."

Mithras has made this special place his home for decades now, it is the only place he feels safe in, and he tends to be very territorial about it. He tends to be rather hostile to intruders, and usually isn't too friendly unless you can convince him you mean no harm. He sees any of the riches that are in there as his, and if you were to try to take one he would no doubt attack.

Fun fact: this is where his egg was believed to be found, hidden among the shining gold and crystals that have grown deep inside the cave ages ago. He was bound to this place, his very essence tied in with the shrine and forever to stay that way; or so he believes at least.

Mithras has worn away at a specific part of the shrine, making his own little area. Over time, this revealed another path that led to a small cave lake that Mithras tends to hang around in order to get food and water. This is an important source for him. He feels like the goddess has blessed him with this gift, and he genuinely believes he was meant to be the protector of this shrine.
