Basic information
Name || Mithras Solstice
- Mithras was celebrated as part of a mystery religion in ancient Rome. He
was a god of the sun, who was born around the time of the winter solstice
and then experienced a resurrection around the spring equinox.
- either of the two times in the year, the summer solstice and the winter
solstice, when the sun reaches its highest or lowest point in the sky at
noon, marked by the longest and shortest days. He was specifically named
after the winter equinox, which happens to mark the day he was born.
Why this name? || Fitting + developmental
I chose this name because it sounded fitting for the echon.
Development wise, though, he was called Mithras because of the
similarities between the two. While Mithras isn't a god in their beliefs,
Ausra did study the other religions of the world out of curiousity and this
name popped out at her. She found it so fitting that she had to bestow the
name upon the echon.
Nicknames || Bug // Ice-cube
-Bug was a nickname given to him by Ausra when he was a hatchling.
Bugs were one of the things he would eat all of the time, and Ausra said
that one day he would turn into one if he didn't eat anything else.
Eventually, she started to call him bug, and he didn't hate it too much.
- As for the nickname ice-cube, this started when Mithras was first
showing his powers. Ausra pretended not to care at first, teasing him
about the fact that she could have him make her ice-cubes wherever they
went. Not too long later, Mithras intentionally filled her room with
nothing but ice-cubes, to which Ausra laughed and started calling the
echon "ice-cube" to remember their silly joke.
Gender || Agender // goes by male pronouns, however
Sexuality || Asexual Heteroromantic
Age || 130 winters
- Mithras is rather young for an echon, and it shows in some of the things
that he does when he's alone. He counts his ages in winters, or how many
blizzard seasons he's gone through. While he isn't immortal, he has a long
time before he reaches old age.
Species || Echon
Distinguishing feature || Dragon whiskers // large horns
- When you first see Mithras, chances are you immediately notice the long
dragon whiskers and the large and dangerous horns protruding from his
head. The dragon whiskers aren't very threatening, and tend to be the first
thing children notice, as children love to mess around and play with them.
Those who are old enough, though, tend to notice the large horns that
tend to be rather scary to someone already intimidated by his beastly size.
Voice and Tone || When speaking English, Mithras' voice is not necessarily deep, but not exactly high pitched either. Its the perfect range for him, although it does have a tendency to crack/break a lot as English is something he doesn't speak often. Once he gets back into the habit of it, this problem will likely vanish. That being said, when he roars or speaks in his native echon tongue, his voice seems to be much more threatening and scary. It sounds menacing and like the voice of a villain, but he doesn't mean it to be that way.
Diet
"They eat almost any thing that is living, including some types of bugs, reptiles, mammals, and plants."
Mithras will eat just about anything that he can find; he isn't exactly picky. He has no known allergies at the moment, and tends to favor fish.
The only thing that Mithras absolutely despises are fungus and moss. You'd be surprised how many times he's been given the two aforementioned plants. He just thinks they taste disgusting and it isn't something he finds too appealing.
