Accessories and their meaning

Saddle and harness || Not always worn anymore

The saddle and harness were custom made to suit Mithras. This was so he and Ausra could go and explore, as well as patrol and make sure everything was safe. This is a pure white item that had two large bags on each side, capable of carrying roughly 200 lbs in each. This was something that he once associated with good and happy times, but now it only brings him melancholy and grief, as Ausra has since passed and he currently does not have a reason to wear it. Still, for old times, he can be seen sliding it on himself and taking it for a test run, just for old times sake. He still uses it to try to remember her and the tribe, seeing it as a way to bridge between the past and the present.

In the future, he will meet another human that will become his rider once again.

Crystals, beads, and feathers || located on his horns, tied by string

Crystals, beads, and feathers were often tied to Mithras' horns. When he aged another year, another bead would be added. After 5 beads were added, it would be replaced by a feather, and when he had 4 feathers, they replaced it with a crystal. It was a way to mark his age and have another way to connect to Ausra and the tribe, as they did something similar as well. After the tribe perished, he decided to keep the tradition living, even if it wouldn't matter to anyone. He would reuse the beads that were given to him, hunt down his own feathers, and harvest his own crystal. This is something he views as important to him, and something he plans on keeping alive for as long as he can.

If he were to have children, this is something he would teach them how to do, and hope that they continue on as well. He will eventually introduce it to his future rider as well.

Silver cloth|| Tied around his left tail

The silver cloth was something that he was given as a hatchling and was tied around his neck in a similar fashion you would tie the collar around a dog. Ausra meant for it to be a gift of friendship, and he adored it! Unfortunately, he grew rapidly and soon it didn't fit him. Fortunately, his tails were thin and it was decided that he would put them around his tail. He does tend to fear that it will fall off, however it never has before and most likely wont with the way he has it tied. If you want to anger him, go ahead and try to take it. He would end you in an instant.

How his differences affect him

Longer Saber-Teeth || Mithras was given the advantage of longer teeth, which help him in a few different ways. For starters, they allow a more deadly bite if he were to attack you. Of course, he only attacks if he is reacting in self defense or protection. It does help when hunting though. They also give off this sort of intimidation factor. After all, you wouldn't want to take on a brute that is perfectly capable of ripping you to shreds. He does find them rather annoying at times, but only with minor things. "Mithras, you have a leaf stuck to your tooth again." "Yes I am aware just leave it because at this point I don't even care anymore." is one of the most common things, especially when prey is scarce and he has to fly in search of other things to eat.

Edited back mane / Longer fur || This seems like a pretty obvious one, given that he lives in the chilly mountains and has ice powers. The extra fur, which happen to be double coated like a huskies fur, provides a lot of perks for him. The undercoat he possesses protects him against the extreme temperatures of both summer and winter, although winter seems to be a bigger problem for him when living in the mountains. The outer guard coat protects the undercoat by repelling moisture and dirt. He would be able to survive without it, however it is just a mutation that has proven to be very helpful to him.

2 Different Tails || While this doesn't seem like it would do much, the two tails actually prove to be rather helpful! His tails are semi-functional as limbs, allowing him to hold onto objects if necessary, but they must be lightweight and smaller sized. He also uses it as a way to seem more intimidating. Especially with manticores, other types of dragons, and smaller predators such as wolves and big cats. Depending on the kind of predator, Mithras can twist his two tails together and freeze the fur at the end of his tail to appear like a stinger and use both as a slapper of sorts to daze and/or confuse smaller predators. They also help him to balance out when flying or climbing, especially when he is carrying something that causes an imbalance in weight. The final thing it allows is for him to mess around with kids and young animals that find them amusing. Children especially loved this, as they are soft and funny feeling.

Slit Pupil|| This doesn't do much other than make him feel pretty cool and look more intimidating. His snake-slit eyes allow him to see in the dark, as well as scare off any who may see them. After all, if you saw a pair of glowing red eyes in the dark, would you want to continue?

One pair of horns || The horns are ram-like in a sense that they curl, but aren't actually the strongest and are capable of breaking off it too much force is applied onto them. They are more similar to deer antlers, though, in a sense that they are dead bone without a horn or skin covering. In a similar fashion, his horns are shed and regrown every year. He uses them as protection and intimidation, and if needed, as an attack weapon. He hates using them, but if needed he will charge and use them as a small stab weapon.

Different ears || Mithras' ears can be compared to cow ears, where they are longer and more to the side of his head. With their bigger size, Mithras is capable of hearing a tad better than the average Echon. His ears are sensitive to things that are underground or under the snow, picking up on subtle sounds more often. The inside of his ears are plated, which help in the bitter cold from them freezing.

Dragon Whiskers|| His whiskers provide a couple of other perks as well. They aren't like a cats, as they don't provide balance or a use like that, but they do allow him to fish. When he first learned that they could be used as a bait, he was ecstatic. When Mithras is in the water, the odd coloring and interesting shape in which the fur twirls seems to attract fish; especially when Mithras sits still and doesn't seem to be a threat. They do also make him feel wise and cool; he's a dork and very much enjoy his interesting mutation.
